I see... THE DARK LUNCH
Such a strange, dark, heavy light occurs at lunchtime today, so I take this photograph from the door of the cafe at 1.30p.m. On the left is the Museum of Scotland, completed in 1998; the church on the right is the The Bedlam Theatre (designed by Thomas Hamilton in the early 1800s when it was called the New North Free Church, but now the oldest student-run theatre in Britain); and in the middle, undergoing renovation, is Edinburgh University's McEwen Hall (magnificent inside, sneak a look if you can) designed in 1874 by Sir Robert Rowand Anderson.
